Reference Photo License
You retain ownership
You keep any copyright you own in photographs you submit. This license does not transfer ownership to FVA.
License granted
By submitting, you grant FVA a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, copy, compress, crop, resize, strip metadata from, annotate, review, compare, analyze, create technical features and derivative reference displays from, and reproduce the photographs solely to operate, secure, research, improve, document, and demonstrate the fragrance visual-reference and comparison service. FVA may allow infrastructure providers and authorized reviewers to exercise these rights only for those purposes.
Pending and declined entries
The license for a pending or declined entry lasts while reasonably needed for review, duplicate detection, security, disputes, backups, and legal compliance. You may request deletion, subject to those limited retention needs.
Accepted references
If an entry is accepted, you also grant FVA a perpetual license for the accepted bottle-only images and derived visual data so the integrity of the reference library and earlier comparisons can be preserved. This accepted-reference license is irrevocable to the extent permitted by law, but FVA may retire or remove an image for privacy, safety, quality, or legal reasons. Contributor identity is not part of the public license.
Your promises
You confirm that you took the photographs or otherwise have authority to grant this license; every image shows the same physical bottle; the submission is accurate to the best of your knowledge; and the images do not unlawfully disclose another person’s identity, property, confidential information, or copyrighted material. Photographing a branded bottle for reference does not authorize copying unrelated artwork, advertising, or third-party listing images.
No unrelated use
FVA will not sell submitted photographs as stock imagery or use them to train an unrelated generative-AI model. A future materially broader use would require a new policy and, where required, new consent.
