Terms of Use

1. Pilot scope and eligibility

This website is an independent research and development pilot operated by Jeff Harrington Jr. (“FVA,” “we,” or “us”). You must be at least 18 years old to activate a profile, contribute a reference, or complete a bottle check. Public visitors may view the demonstration without creating an account.

2. Accounts and roles

Profile creation requires an administrator-issued invitation code and sign-in with the exact invited email. Email control is not government identity proofing. Roles limit what a profile may do. You are responsible for accurate account information, protecting invitation and credit codes, and promptly reporting unauthorized use. We may refuse duplicate accounts, rate-limit activity, suspend a profile, or block abusive use.

3. Contributions and reviews

Reference contributions are free. A submission remains pending until reviewed. Reviewers may request retakes, quarantine, decline, archive, or accept an entry. Acceptance means the images are usable as a community visual reference; it is not a finding that a product is genuine. The Reference Photo License and Submission Rules form part of these terms.

4. Bottle checks, credits, and rewards

Each completed non-administrator bottle-check preview consumes one check credit. Purchasing is disabled. Complimentary and reward credits have no cash value, are nontransferable, and are not refundable. A contributor receives two complimentary checks when a submission is newly accepted; the same accepted reference cannot earn the reward twice.

5. No authenticity guarantee

FVA provides visual organization, comparison assistance, and research observations only. Photographs may be incomplete, altered, misleading, or unable to show internal construction or provenance. Do not rely on this service as the sole basis for a purchase, sale, appraisal, refund, accusation, or legal decision. Seek qualified human inspection and independent evidence where appropriate.

6. Prohibited conduct

Do not upload unlawful, infringing, deceptive, malicious, or privacy-invasive material; probe security; automate submissions; evade limits or blocks; create duplicate profiles; scrape the library; reverse engineer private comparison methods; impersonate another person; or interfere with another user. We may preserve relevant records and cooperate with lawful process.

7. Availability and changes

This pilot may change, pause, lose data, or end without notice. Features, rewards, roles, policies, and future pricing may change prospectively. Material policy changes will use a new version and may require fresh consent.

8. Disclaimers and limitation

The service is provided “as is” and “as available” to the maximum extent permitted by law, without warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness, noninfringement, availability, or a particular outcome. To the maximum extent permitted by law, FVA and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from use of the pilot. Nothing here excludes rights or liability that law does not permit us to exclude.

9. Independent project

Brand and fragrance names are used only to identify the subjects of comparison. FVA is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any fragrance house, retailer, marketplace, authentication company, or ChatGPT/OpenAI.

10. Disputes

These terms are governed by law applicable at the operator’s principal place of business, without overriding mandatory consumer or privacy rights that apply to you. Before filing a claim, please use the contact process below and allow a reasonable opportunity to address the issue. These terms do not require arbitration or waive a right that cannot lawfully be waived.
